One aspect of teaching that I hadn't entirely expected is dealing with uncertainty and developing improvisational skills. Students might ask questions I hadn't prepared for or can't entirely answer, or sometimes the entire class may not be as engaged as I'd ideally like. These experiences, however, have informed my ability to adapt to new situations and find a way to continue modifying my communication in a way that is (hopefully) more engaging. As I already touched on, I have intentions to continue teaching as a TA, and I feel that my ability to synthesize a lesson and hold discussions will greatly benefit me in the future. Not only this, but I feel that for the rest of my life, I will be on better footing to handle situations that involve dealing with ambiguity or unforeseen circumstances. Hopefully, regardless of my future career plans, I will be able to adapt to new events and continue communicating in a way that informs and inspires.
