Electronic Delivery of Tuition Statement (Tax Form 1098-T)
UC uses electronic means whenever possible to reduce its carbon footprint and expedite business transactions. By providing your consent to receive your Tuition Statement electronically you will be supporting these efforts.
Tuition Statements are issued by January 31, each year, and are available online for up to five years. If you do not want to receive an electronic version of your Tuition Statement, the University of California will mail you a printed version.
In order to receive your Tuition Statement electronically, you must have access to an electronic device such as a computer, smartphone, or tablet with a supporting operating system that can connect to the internet and that has sufficient electronic storage capacity to be able to save documents for your personal records. You must also have an up-to-date internet browser and PDF viewer, email software, and a printer capable of printing from an internet browser. By providing your consent, you acknowledge that you have access to the hardware and software described above.
Your consent to receive your Tuition Statement electronically is valid until your access to your UCEAP online student account expires or you update your consent.
You may request a printed copy of your Tuition Statement by contacting studentfinance@eap.ucop.edu. Such requests do not constitute an update of your consent.
In order to receive your Tuition Statement electronically, you will need to keep the email address provided through your online UCEAP student account current.
Release of Financial Information to a Third-Party Authorization
You may want your parents or a third party to have access to your UCEAP account and make payments on your behalf. The consents and form above are separate from your home campus release or power of attorney. If you have any questions, please email studentfinance@uceap.universityofcalifornia.edu.
Federal and state laws limit UCEAP’s ability to discuss personal information about a student with anyone other than the student, unless the student authorizes the release of such information. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) assigns privacy rights to all students enrolled in UCEAP, regardless of age. Under UCEAP policy, parents, guardians, and spouses have no inherent right to access a student’s financial records, even if the student is financially dependent. In other words, even if your parents or guardians are paying for your participation in UCEAP, in most circumstances we cannot disclose financial information without your permission.
