About The Program
This program offers an experience-based learning environment to study conflict resolution, identity, politics, and spirituality while immersing in Jerusalem’s culture, society, and city. Through site visits, field trips, and guest lectures, you’ll study, engage, and converse with peers from a variety of backgrounds on a program designed to explore Israel’s geographic, political, and cultural landscapes. The area’s historical and religious significance adds a second—and unparalleled—dimension to the academic experience that cannot be matched at your home university. By collaborating with international students and guest lecturers, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of current global issues.
Where you'll study
The Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HUJ) is one of Israel’s leading research institutions. The university believes in multi-disciplinary study and applied use of its academic research within social and industrial spheres. Some of its outstanding developments include a drug used to treat Alzheimer’s patients and a computer-vision crash warning and safety system for cars. Perched atop Mount Scopus, the campus arguably has one of the most spectacular views in Israel. On your way to class each day, you can see the Old City on one side of campus and the Dead Sea just beyond the epic Judaean Desert on the other. The campus also features an open-air theater (again with one of the best views in the country) and botanical gardens with a 2,000-year-old cemetery in the center.
