This course introduces the basic concepts of information system security and the design principles of classic information system security mechanisms, systematically discussing security threats and corresponding system security protection strategies from two aspects: security analysis technology and security protection mechanism. Information system vulnerabilities and malicious behavior analysis techniques, authentication, information protection and isolation mechanisms, access control and other security protection mechanisms are discussed. Using the latest data processing application software as an example, the course analyzes the use of information system security technology, combining case analysis and course experiments, and analyzes the security mechanism design of mainstream information systems and common security detection and security defense technologies.

Research on developing countries has mainly focused on how to achieve economic prosperity and equal distribution of wealth, but politics also has a significant impact on the well-being of people in developing countries. This course will introduce students to the most important theoretical frameworks and empirical findings for the study of politics in developing countries. Firstly, it introduces the main paradigms of studying political development, such as modernization theory and dependency theory. Next, the course will discuss some important topics in political development, such as the influence of colonialism, ethnic conflict, military intervention, individual dictatorship, religion and politics, and political and economic development. 

This course provides an introduction to the theory of the state. After introducing the concept of the state and the state-centered perspective, this course expands on the current theory of the state from both horizontal and vertical perspectives. Vertically, the course answers the following questions: Why did the modern state rise? What are the factors that influence nation-building? What experience does each country offer? Horizontally, the course introduces the relationship between the state and other political and social phenomena, such as the state and political system, the state and economy, the state and identity, and so on. Finally, the focus of this lesson will fall to China.

This course combines economic theory with historical facts and examines the economic and social development of the East and the West. It covers the important historical content of all human economic and social activities from the origin of agricultural civilization to the present day, such as the origin of agricultural civilization, the great Geographical discovery, Columbus exchange, religious Reform, industrial Revolution, modern industrialization, the Great Depression, globalization and other related issues.

This course covers the general ideas and methods of solving problems with computers, to master the basic processes and methods of programming, and to use Python as a tool for analysis and processing large data. This course teaches the current popular Python language. Python is very suitable as the first programming language for non-computer science majors. Learning content includes: Python sequences: lists, tuples, dictionaries, collections, control structures: selection, looping, string common operation methods, string functions, regular expressions, function definition and usage, module definition and usage, file operations, exception handling, etc., and basic understanding of graphical interface and drawing.

The course provides a study of the contemporary Chinese political system. Topics include the people's congress system, electoral system, state administrative system, civil service system, national regional autonomy system, system of special administrative region, communist party's leadership system of multi-party cooperation and political consultation system. It analyzes the systems’ origins, composition, operation, and development.

This course addresses the effective use of cloud technology in digital cultural and creative projects including: versatile digital publishing, website design, web community development, digital imaging, animation, video and media production management. As a specific objective, we emphasize to cap off a team project more than an individual task. This course takes account of the inter-discipline of humanities and information technology through media application. The learning method focuses on problem solving oriented approach. The learning activity designates a hands-on assignment and requires a complete output in the form of publishable presentation.

This course covers the concepts, guidelines, and basic traditional techniques of cultural relics protection and restoration, including the compilation of restoration plans and records, the performance and aging mechanism of cultural relics materials, the selection and implementation of cultural relics restoration materials, etc. Students learn cultural relics cleaning, bonding, reinforcement, and repair procedures and technical essentials. The course also trains students to master the basic cleaning and restoration techniques of ceramics, porcelain, paper, stone, metal, and other cultural relics.

The course explores the international frontiers of international trade studies at the enterprise level, Topics include the development of international trade theory and empirical research from the perspective of enterprises; individual enterprises in a dynamic open economy; the motivations, mechanisms, and influences of internationalization choices (trade, investment, outsourcing, etc.) when pursuing their own development and maximizing profits.

This course explores the role of parents and parenting strategies in children's growth and development. Students learn the basic theory of child development and how specific parenting methods and practices affect children's cognitive, social, and emotional development at all stages of growth. Students also learn about parental roles, parenting concepts and behaviors in different social and cultural backgrounds, and discuss the social and cultural factors affecting contemporary families and parenting. The course introduces basic child rearing and parenting skills, and provides the basis for students who are interested in working with teenagers and children in the future. Topics include: 1) theoretical basis of parenting research and practice; 2) changes in parenting styles and strategies at various stages of development from early childhood to adolescence; 3) cross-cultural comparison and interdisciplinary discussion of parental roles, parenting concepts/styles, and parent-child relationship
