This course provides an introduction to the basic macroeconomic model first and the most relevant macroeconomic indicators that measure economic performance. It also examines fiscal policy and monetary policy, and provides an analysis of open economies, paying special attention to the debate on the desirability of belonging to a monetary union. The course also provides an evaluation of the current debates on macroeconomic policies and economic growth.

This course provides an introduction to company finances. It examines the different financial elements necessary to determine company value, and the manner in which to use the financial structure to increase the value taking into account the overall risk. NOTE: Students are expected to have completed Financial Economics.

This course examines the foundations of geopolitics as a discipline and the main theoretical-methodological approaches of geopolitical studies. Topics include: global geopolitical theories and systems--from imperialist to Cold War geopolitics; geopolitical issues in the contemporary world-- the post-Cold War era and the multi-polar world; geopolitical approaches to conflict-- cultures, natural resources, and the state system. 

This course presents an advanced study of oral and written English expression. It examines idea organization as well as proper usage of language: introductions; conclusions; sentence structure; and vocabulary. The course presents specific techniques of written and oral expression: paragraphs; coherence and cohesion; creative writing; text revision; pronunciation and intonation; dialogue; oral presentations; discourse organization; gesticulation; improvisation; and interviews. 

This course covers statistical inference in one population, key concepts in hypothesis testing, issues of comparing two populations, concepts of the simple linear regression model, and use of statistical software to perform analyses. Prerequisite: introductory course in statistics.
