The course analyzes the conflict between Palestinians and Israelis in the Middle East as presented in films, the point of view of the press, NGOs, international relations experts, and international law academics . Topics covered include the origin of the conflict, occupation of Palestinian territory, and Israeli national security.

This course provides a study of the main environmental risks and challenges posed by human activity. It also examines current debates on the sustainability of economic growth and the problems of global governance posed by environmental challenges. Other topics covered include: industrial exploitation and the global ecological crisis; stocks, market and environment; environmental degradation and global governance; urban planning and sustainability; development and corporate environmental responsibility; ethics, regulations and environmental justice.

This course offers an introduction to creativity and innovation. Topics include: what is and what is not creativity; the creative personality; lateral thinking; creative skills; key principles of creativity; methods and tools for the application of creative thinking; the process of problem-solving-- models, phases, tools, and application; monitoring and control of decisions; group decision making-- consensus.

This course provides a study of family owned or controlled businesses, with special emphasis on the specific challenges they face. It takes into account the organization and management of human resources within a family business structure, as well as the competitive advantages and specific problems that can result.

This course studies the origin and evolution of national, ethnic and supranational identities, social and economic determinants of attitudes towards immigration, and the process of changing cultural values. Ethno-territorial conflicts in the contemporary world and the debate on the clash of cultures are covered, as well as the cultural dimension of regional integration processes, such as the case of the European Union.

This course provides a study of artistic movements that have taken place in Spain from the 16th century to the present day. It analyzes the stylistic characteristics of the Renaissance, Baroque, Romanticism, Cubism and Surrealism. Particular attention is give to Spanish art within the European context, as well aspects of patronage or the art market. The course includes an examination of fundamental Spanish artists such as El Greco, Velázquez, Goya, Picasso or Dalí, and their works in relation with artists from other European geographical areas.

This course examines the history and current state of the film and television industry. It focuses on and how information is produced, distributed, and consumed on a global level. Topics of study include: cinema and film as a cultural industry; cultural exception and national media policy; regulation and deregulation of the television industry; public service and financing in the European television realm; the Hollywood hegemony in film and television; the Big 5 networks; HBO and pay TV networks; the digital revolution and piracy; and the advent of IPTV. 

This course explores the approaches, analytical models, and key concepts in political theory. It covers liberalism, conservatism, socialism and ideological variants, and other ideologies like racialism, colonialism, imperialism, and totalitarianism.

This course provides a study of the main theories of conflict and violence, the evolution and determinants of interstate wars, intrastate conflict, and terrorism, conflict resolution, and peace keeping.

This course analyzes the geographical configuration of tourist areas, human flows and movements due to tourism and leisure, and resources and attractions and their influence on that territory. Topics include: tourism and its current trends; tourism resources; tourist destinations; tourism and sustainability; the great tourist regions-- America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Oceania.
