This course is designed for students beyond an intermediate language level. It covers a variety of grammatical concepts including: compound and simple relative pronouns; present and past subjunctive and infinitive; expression of comparison; expressing time; direct and indirect speech and temporal expressions. This course broadens cultural knowledge of the Francophone world through film, television, radio, videos, text, etc.

This course examines how meaning is expressed in natural language including the meaning of words and grammatical morphemes, prototype theory, lexical semantics, sentence semantics, dictionary definitions, and pragmatics.

This course focuses on the efficient use of society's scarce resources for the movement of people and goods from an origin to destination. It examines theories used for decision-making in transportation with emphasis on the economic and financial aspects of transportation policy and planning. The fundamental concepts used include cost-benefit analysis, market demand and its supply. Disciplines of study include: transport, economics, business, management, public policy, and business strategy.
