This is a special studies course involving an internship with a corporate, public, governmental, or private organization, arranged with the Study Center Director or Liaison Officer. Specific internships vary each term and are described on a special study project form for each student. A substantial paper or series of reports is required. Units vary depending on the contact hours and method of assessment. The internship may be taken during one or more terms but the units cannot exceed a total of 12.0 for the year.

This course analyzes key practical and theoretical elements in the cinematographic representation of the LGBTQI+ collective, in its different manifestations throughout the history of cinema. It examines the ethical and aesthetic universe of so-called queer cinema in search of its own Latin American identity.

The course offers an alternative review of the history of Western concert music to know the most relevant ideas produced by the feminist perspective and to make visible the role that women have played as composers, performers, and patrons of music. It discusses gender inequality, both in the world of music and in Chilean society today.

From the perspective of the humanities, this course explores some of the main authors who have reflected on the impact of human life on the planet and the current global environmental crisis.

This course offers a study of contemporary Chilean and world history through examination of artistic expression (film, music, visual arts) of the Golden Age from 1945-1973.

This course analyzes artistic heritage as a material manifestation of societal memory. It explores the interdependence between artistic heritage and the context of its creation and appreciation. 

The course offers a study of the conceptual framework of cultural heritage, from the theoretical point of view and the application of national and international legislation, to the reality of the expressions present in Chile today. It uses case studies, bibliographic reviews, and practical work in the field, to discuss the problems related to initiatives to safeguard and protect the intangible, material, and natural areas of cultural heritage.

This course offers a study of the poetry of Spanish-speaking Latin America from pre-Hispanic times to the beginning of the 20th century.
