This course provides a study of Quechua language and culture and examines the importance and influence of the Quechua culture in Chile. The course is divided into twelve units, each examining grammatical and cultural elements through translated texts (riddles, stories, poetry, songs), documentaries, historical surveys, and Internet research.
COURSE DETAIL
This course examines the principal political, economic, social, and cultural phenomena involved in the formation and development of Latin American culture. It includes the interdependent relationship of Chile in the process of Latin American development; homogeneity and heterogeneity in Latin America; the Spanish-Indian encounter and problems of identity; social institutions in the colonial period; modernization and cultural identity; family; psychology; popular religion; and arts, film, literature, world vision, and change in Latin America.

This course offers a study of everything from recreational activity to competitive or high-performance sports and analyzes the impact of practicing physical activity and sports as a social and economic phenomenon. It explores the use of physical exercise as an element of prevention and therapy, as well as a vocational and work option.
