Course Description

This course analyzes the main pillars and political consequences of the world economy, through the study of key contemporary issues such as the World Trade Organization and Trade Policy, multinational corporations, regional trade agreements, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, the Latin American debt crisis, the financial crisis in East Asia, financial globalization, economic inequalities and global environmental policies.

Course Description
This course analyzes modern politics, specifically in terms of the relationships between civil society and the state. It examines the systems of representation and political parties that formalize these relationships in modern political regimes, as well as the underlying political conflict. Topics include: power and politics; the state; relations between civil society and the state; political parties; structure and social conflict in politics; current problems of social and political representation of conflict.

Course Description

The student will learn about the sources of international law, treaties, custom, unilateral acts, general principles of international law, doctrine, and jurisprudence. In the same way, students will understand about concepts related to subjects of international law, jurisdiction and immunities. Additionally, they will identify concepts such as territorial domain, the legal regime of Maritime Spaces, Airspace, Outer space and Antartica. Finally, students will understand the concept of international responsibility.

Course Description
This course explores the social, cultural and political processes that define the current relationship between Chilean society and its indigenous communities including the Mapuche, the Rapa Nui, and the Aymara. It investigates the historical process that created the often problematic and challenging relationship between Chilean society with the indigenous peoples and provides a critical analysis of multicultural reality in Chile today. Other themes covered include: theoretical approaches to ethnicity; migration processes and rural and urban habitats of Chilean indigenous peoples; Chilean public policies; indigenous movements and challenges of recognition.
