Course Description
The course seeks to understand the gender dynamics that take place in the university space (particularly Campus Juan Gómez Millas), as an expression of the gender relations that are experienced in Chilean society today. Through analysis of the Chilean context and its gender transformations, it discusses patriarchal mandates as determining factors in the structure-agency tensions and their influence on campus relational dynamics. It also critically analyzes various expressions of machismo, sexism and phobias of the patriarchal heteronormativity, and presents a set of guiding criteria for university coexistence through a participatory process.
