This course provides a critical analysis of women's participation in the revolutionary movements of the southern cone. It examines the contributions of women in these different movements and the changes that they wanted for their respective societies. This course provides a critical analysis of the works of prominent Andean poets significant to the cultural history of Latin America: Pedro Prado, Pablo Neruda, Pablo De Rokha, Gonzalo Rojas, Stella Díaz-Varín, César Vallejo, Vicente Huidobro, Gabriela Mistral, Blanca Varela, Soledad Fariña, Juan Eduardo Eielson, Jaime Sáenz. It examines the symbolism, content, and structure of their works, and examines the personal and historical contexts in which they were written. It also compares and contrasts the authors, paying special attention to the poets' identities with regards to gender, class, and ethnicity.
