This course offers a study on competition regulation and policy. Topics include: the need for regulation and regulatory instruments; regulation in the presence of complete information--regulation of a natural monopoly; regulation in the presence of asymmetric information; legal framework-- conduct control, structure control, and state aid; theoretical models-- incentives for horizontal mergers, equilibrium condition to sustain collusion, incentives for vertical integration, and predation; analysis of real competition cases in Spain and Europe.

This course offers an introduction to philosophy. Topics include: truth and error; reality, language, and concepts; the concept of self; freedom, mind, and body; good and evil; justice and politics; beauty, experience, and wisdom; death and ultimate questions.

This course provides further study of the phonological, morphosyntactic and discursive aspects of French. Completion of the course provides the equivalent of level B1.1 and B1.2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

This course examines the main theoretical models of personality and the current criteria for establishing the normality or abnormality of behavior. It discusses normal and pathological human diversity, the advantages and disadvantages of diagnostic systems, the main clinical manifestations of psychopathology, and main areas of action of the clinical psychologist. The course provides an opportunity for practical work in personality analysis, psychopathological exploration, and therapeutic skills.

This course offers a study of Spanish language at the intermediate (CEFR B1) level.

This course offers an introduction to statistical methods and the means by which to obtain information from data. Topics include: descriptive statistics; probability; random variables; distribution models; statistical inference; quality control; linear regression. Pre-Requisites: Linear Algebra, Calculus, Programming.
