Course Description

This course examines the representations, contexts, and politics of gender, sexuality and the media. By interrogating the discourses of gender and sexuality as they are 'mediated' in a variety of forms (including television, film, popular music, social media, advertising), we will examine the construction and disruption of categories of gender and sexual identity, and their intersection with other identity frameworks.

Course Description
This course surveys current theories in cognitive psychology pertaining to perception, attention, memory, knowledge, language, and decision-making. Students examine the methods that cognitive psychologists use, including behavioral experiments and neuroscientific approaches. Students learn to support or refute theoretical perspectives; and to communicate the aims, methods, results, and implications of cognitive psychology experiments, using conventional standards of scientific writing.

This course examines the introduction to digital music and audio through computer programming, sound synthesis, and audio effects, with a focus on learning through creative work.
