This course introduces Buddhist philosophy by directly reading the original texts, by selecting the classics from the “Madhyamika” school and late stages of Indian Buddhist philosophy, in particular, the three modules of Indian Buddhist philosophy in the middle and late periods —— Madhyamika, Mind-Only and Logic schools.
This course is different from the general selection of Buddhist Sutras. The Buddhist scriptures are divided into three parts: Sutra, Vinaya and Abhidharma. The Abhidharma part is the most important medium of Indian Buddhist philosophy. In the middle and late period of Buddhist philosophy, there are many theories which have not been translated into Chinese, or the Chinese translation is not perfect. We will use the combination of English translation and the original to teach. The problems discussed in these theories are closely related to the general problems of philosophy, so this course is also suitable for philosophy majors to take.

This course is to help students to
1.Understand and master the basic concepts of the general business ethics code, the law of market subjects. the law of business conduct, the law of government intervention in business activities, and the basic provisions and contents of the relevant specific sectoral laws in China, and be able to improve the ability to analyze and solve problems with empirical cases.
2. Through the systematic study of the course, students will enrich their knowledge of law and business ethics, expand their horizons, improve their knowledge structure, and respond to the requirements of society for management graduates, thus enhancing their employment competitiveness.

The course presents the basic theoretical knowledge of contract law; the main problems in contract practice; how to judge the legal effect and legal relationship status in contract practice; and how to make basic judgments on the nature of contract disputes; analyze and resolve common problems in contract disputes. The content of the course includes basic principles of contract law, legal rules for contract formation, legal rules and practices for contract validity, performance of contracts, change and transfer of contracts, termination of contracts, and liability for breach of contract.

Physiology is the science of studying the function and mechanism of living bodies. This course introduces the relationship between physiology and human health in the form of classes. It aims to make students master the law of life activities and maintain physical and mental health by teaching the physiological functions of blood, circulation, respiration, urinary, digestion and nervous system. This course systematically introduces the basic knowledge of the physiology, from micro to macro. While discussing the basic rule of higher animal life activities as well as the importance of human health, the course examines important discoveries in the history of the development of physiology and embodied in the process of scientific thought, the concept of innovation, and dedication to science. Students not only get the physiology knowledge theory, value, and know their own physical and mental health, but also increase their scientific thought and scientific spirit.

This course covers the principles of taxation; history of the tax system; contemporary tax system; generation, development, and evolution of taxation; and laws of taxation as a discipline closely related to the behavior of the state. The basic content of the course is divided into three major parts. The first part introduces the basic concepts and principles of taxation and the relationship between taxation and economy; the second part introduces the evolution process of ancient Chinese taxation system; the third part briefly introduces the setting of contemporary taxation system and its reform trend.

This course provides a basic knowledge of Japanese literature and culture, as well as the history and current state of Sino-Japanese relations. The course helps students develop a relatively objective and dispassionate understanding of Japan based on extensive reading and independent thinking, in addition to the mass media and mainstream Sino-Japanese propaganda, and to enable them to think and write about issues of interest to them under the guidance of the instructor.

It covers various functions of human resources management including job analysis, HR acquisition and allocation, salary and incentive, learning and development, labor relations management, and different types of enterprises (state-owned, private, and foreign enterprises). The course introduces the diversity and rapid development of the healthcare system in Shanghai. It covers public hospitals, private hospitals, international hospitals or clinics for the foreigners (like Parkway and United Family Hospital). Public hospitals are mainstream and divided into three levels: tertiary, secondly and primary care center. The course also examines the application of IT in healthcare, including AI and mobile health, which is rapidly evolving in Shanghai, for example, cloud/digital hospital. Other topics include the medical insurance system and methods of payment.
