The course explores the psychology and science of creativity, examining creative thinking, cognitive processes, creativity and the brain, individual differences, and psychological barriers to creativity. Students explore how creativity is measured and develop strategies to enhance creative potential through research-based activities and projects.

The course examines how cultural differences influence communication and business practices in an increasingly globalized environment. Students explore cultural values, intercultural competence, communication, negotiation, marketing, leadership, human resources, diversity, and multicultural teams, applying cross-cultural theories and frameworks to international business contexts. 

This beginner-level Spanish course develops foundational communicative proficiency at the A1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Students develop listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills while building essential vocabulary and basic grammatical structures. Through practical activities, students learn to communicate in simple everyday and academic situations, including introducing themselves, describing people and places, discussing routines and interests, and expressing basic preferences and needs.  The course does not advance a full level but contributes to skill improvement.

The course examines how consumer insights inform marketing strategies and business decisions. Students explore consumer decision-making, branding, persuasion, loyalty, and digital marketing strategies used to influence consumer behavior and strengthen brand performance. 

The course examines social innovation and entrepreneurship as approaches to addressing social, economic, and environmental challenges. Students explore social enterprise models, sustainable business practices, impact investing, technology, behavioral approaches, and strategies for scaling and measuring social impact. The course emphasizes the development and evaluation of innovative, socially responsible business initiatives.  

This oral skills course corresponds to level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference. It focuses on improving communicative competition and expanding lexical knowledge and discursive strategies that allow students to interact successfully in Spanish daily life.

This course aims to reflect on ideology, the construction of identities, and the representations of facts and languages ​​that emerge in hegemonic neoliberal discourses (focusing on multiple areas of society: health, culture, interpersonal relationships, labor relations, digital communications, etc.) It also seeks to develop critical intercultural competence, focusing on a key question: what is culture? Clichés, cultural misunderstandings, stereotypes, and prejudices surrounding identities are examined. This course is taught in Spanish and a minimum level of B2 Spanish language background is required.

This course examines the rich and complex history of Catalonia, from the Middle Ages to the present day. Students explore the formation and evolution of Catalonia, beginning with its medieval origins and the development of a distinct Catalan identity. Key historical milestones, such as the War of the Spanish Succession, the rise of Catalan nationalism, and the impact of the Spanish Civil War, are analyzed to understand their enduring influence on contemporary Catalan society and politics. 

Additional topics include the relationship between Catalonia and the broader Spanish state, significant political movements and cultural developments, including the Renaixença (Catalan Renaissance), the establishment of the Generalitat (Catalan Government), and the recent push for independence. Through a multidisciplinary approach, incorporating history, political science, and cultural studies, students gain a comprehensive understanding of Catalonia's socio-political landscape. The course also addresses contemporary issues such as language policy, regional autonomy, and the economic challenges facing Catalonia within the European Union.
