This is a capstone course in consumer and advertising psychology. Through the course students analyze consumer behavior and trends and solve marketing communication problems. It’s a strategic communication, campaign planning, management, and execution course that approximates an agency-client work situation.

This course examines how genetics translate into normal and pathological behaviors. The course discusses topics including basic concepts of genetics and heritability; how the interplay between genes and environment can influence behavior; behavioral implications of some of the main genetic and chromosomal disorders such as Down syndrome, Williams syndrome, and fragile X; and genetical underpinnings of some behavioral traits in the normal and pathological field. Students are required to have knowledge concerning the basics of biology and genetics as a prerequisite.

This course examines bilingualism and bilingual people including the acquisition and learning of two languages, personality and intelligence, and variables of cognitive development. It also discusses bilingual education programs for linguistic minorities and majorities as well as multiculturalism.

The course explores human perception and attention, focusing on visual and auditory processing, the perception of space, movement, time, and social cues, and the integration of sensory information. Students study psychophysical methods, attention mechanisms, musical and speech perception, and multi-sensory integration, combining experimental, cognitive, and social perspectives to understand how humans perceive and interact with the world.
