Academic Culture
Courses at CIEE are primarily offered to students from the US and taught by local faculty. The class size is small – typically no more than 15 students. Language classes meet four days per week for two and a half hours, and non-language classes meet three days per week for two and a half hours each day. Essentially, you can expect to be in class Mondays through Thursdays.
Classes have a variety of assessment methods, including projects, presentations, papers, and exams. Attendance is required in all classes.
Grades
You will earn direct UC credit and grades for all coursework.
UCEAP uses CIEE’s grading rubric when transmitting grades back to your UC campus. The grades on your UC record will appear exactly as they are on your CIEE record. UC grades are final.
