Housing

Where you live in Dunedin depends on whether you want university housing or private housing. Semester students live in the university apartments. Once you are accepted into the program, you’ll receive a packet with housing information and instructions to choose and arrange your housing. The application process is easy and you’ll know your housing assignment before you arrive in Dunedin. You can also choose to arrange your own accommodations by researching the private rental market. If you set up housing on your own, you’ll need to make arrangements for a temporary place to say, like a hostel or hotel, while you finalize your permanent housing.

Apartment

All the university flats are unique. Some are older renovated homes and others are newly built shared complexes similar to a condo. You’ll have a private bedroom and share a kitchen, living space, and bathroom with your flatmates. New Zealand students live in some of the flats and take the role of a residential assistant. These students will introduce you to university flat culture and help you settle in when you arrive. Within the community, support staff organize a variety of sports, cultural, and volunteer events and dinners. You’ll have access to the university’s recreation services as a gym.
