This course examines the culture and philosophy of traditional Chinese medicine. It covers the development of Chinese medicine from the social, cultural, ideological and technological perspectives, including the safety of Chinese medicine, modernization of Traditional Chinese medicine, and internationalization. Topics include its origin and culture, historical evolution and development, modern development and humanistic background, strategy of modernization and internationalization, and basic concepts of Chinese medicinal base plants, classification, preparation, Taodi herbs, etc.

Workplace ethics (Occupational Ethics) is an emerging issue of the times. When working hours continue to prolong, work relationships continue to complicate, work values continue to be disintegrated due to diversity, and the continuous innovation of technology at work subverts inherent behavior patterns. In chaos of disagreement, the thinking and dialogue of workplace ethics is meeting the needs of this era and helping people to find the greatest common divisor of interests and well-being. Since the 20th century, the tide of capitalism's consequentialism and the pursuit of maximum profit has been hitting and submerging the entire world of work. People are confused about how to find the real meaning and value of work. This is a construction that requires the help of inner life experience. Among them, the promotion of Workplace Spirituality is a good choice, because its purpose is to help workers realize the inner spiritual meaning of work, spread a sense of harmony, and get the whole workplace community to be inspired.

This course employs a variety of teaching methods—including lectures, discussions, and visual material analysis—to guide students in understanding how social gender, as a social structure, is constructed, reproduced, and contested through images, media, the body, and everyday life. It introduces the foundational theories of gender, outlines key feminist theoretical traditions and methodologies, and draws on case studies from film, advertising, and embodied practices to explore how gender is encoded and represented in visual culture.

At the same time, the course emphasizes that gender equality is not only a theoretical stance, but also a practical skill and a social responsibility. Through critical analysis and reflection on gendered mechanisms, students will learn to identify and deconstruct hidden structures of inequality, enhance their capacity for empathy and understanding of difference, and critically reflect on the binary oppositions and labeling tendencies prevalent in the digital age. Ultimately, the course aims to foster a more inclusive and equitable cultural and social environment.

A tutorial course for beginners, students will enhance their Chinese characters writing and recognition skills. The course aims to enable students to learn Chinese with joy through games and group activities. The course also furthers understanding of Taiwanese culture and language. Attendance is required.

This course is a continuation of Chinese 3. Students strengthen their competency in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and culture. Dialogue texts and short articles are used in teaching. Students are trained to communicate events more descriptively. Topics include but are not limited to, talking about experience, changes, and plans, purchasing plane tickets, and looking for a job.

Through this course, students will be able to learn about important Chinese cultural relics and related cultural relics, in the meantime, understand and appreciate Chinese history and traditional culture related to cultural relics, which will help to improve their appreciation, broaden their horizen and promote cultural exchange. 

The course provides a complete picture of museum science, and covers various themes related to current domestic and foreign museum circles. Course topics include the philosophy and practice of the international museum circle, including museum history, mission and purpose, etc.; the status quo, problems and prospects of the development of Chinese museum circles; planning and production of museum exhibitions; planning and implementation of museum education activities; development and operation of museum cultural products and services; and museum construction and management. The course includes museum visits.

This course provides an introduction to mental health and clinical psychology. Students learn the theories, techniques, and applications of clinical psychology. Additionally, through case studies, students learn how to conduct clinical evaluations according to scientific standards, and develop intervention plans, in order to quickly improve the client's core problems. The course focuses on the teaching and practice of four major areas of clinical psychology: clinical psychological assessment, clinical psychological intervention, social services and regional assistance, and clinical psychological research. Research in clinical psychology is a required part of the course.
