This course teaches basic Chinese vocabulary used in a business environment. The class is limited to students who are capable of more than 1500 Chinese vocabulary or have taken Chinese classes for more than 800 hours (which equals to finishing the textbook Practical Audio-Visual Chinese II). The textbook used for this class is Far East Business Chinese (L.1~7). This class is taught only in Chinese.

Folk literature, unlike written literature, is a special literary style carried by oral language which plays irreplaceable role in daily life. This course gives an overview of the basic theories of the folk literature, as well as the classical oral literary works popular with various social classes. Topics include concept and basic characteristics of folklore literature; concept and characteristics of mythology; content and catalog of Chinese folktale; two-part allegorical saying, proverb and riddle; and content and catalog of folk long poem.

Course Description

This course adheres to the concept of general education, based on the main body of film art, and also on the appeal of film works and the unique analysis of artistic styles. It uses film case analysis as a method and audiovisual language as a basic tool. The audio-visual language and narrative techniques of movies are studied for their artistic and ideological nature, so that students can understand the rules of film art creation, and master the great aesthetic value of the film (ideological and emotional), so as to cultivate their thinking ability and creative ability.

1) Diplomatic system, including the historic evolution of diplomacy, diplomatic manners and principles, and diplomatic bureaucracy and staff establishment.

2) Content and process of bilateral diplomacy, including functions of bilateral diplomacy, diplomatic negotiations and diplomatic treaties as results.
