This course is meant mainly for students with basic Tibetan language skills (phonetics, grammar). Students strengthen those skills through intensive reading of Tibetan Buddhist Literature.

Among the handed-down literature in China, Tibetan literature is no less impressive than the Chinese literature due to its great variety and quantity. Tibetan literature is very deep and extensive, which not only provides an inexhaustible basis for the study of Tibetology, but also constructs a strict knowledge barrier for later generations. As an academic tool, Tibetan language plays an indispensable and irreplaceable role in the study of Buddhist philosophy. The advancement and promotion of Indo-Tibetan and Sino-Tibetan Buddhism as well as related research can be said to depend on the researcher’s language ability. Today, Tibetan Buddhism and related philosophical studies are increasingly dependent on the ability of researchers to study, interpret and interpret Tibetan texts, as well as to examine and collate multilingual materials.

This course introduces single songs and comprehensive stage music art. It traces century-old school music, and then expands to a variety of musical performance. The main topics include: song creation from a hundred years ago, school songs and campus songs, Chinese and foreign popular music, Chinese folk music culture, small and medium instrumental music basics, Western classic symphonic music, Chinese and foreign classic opera comparison, Chinese and foreign dance and dance music, classic musical drama appreciation, and an introduction to China opera culture.

With the development of wireless Internet technologies and the increasing usage of emerging networks, digital interconnection technology, artificial intelligence and big data technology in public management, public management and government operations are now facing unprecedented challenges and new development opportunities. This course introduces the evolution of innovation in government operations and public management, as well as the interaction between government operations, management, organizational behavior and innovation. This course will also discuss how the application and development of new technologies affect the followings: government operations, public information policies, public service innovation, administrative and institutional reforms, and the development of relevant laws and regulations.

The course provides an overview of the knowledge, theories, and skills related to corporate marketing. The course covers the need to strengthen corporate marketing management in the process of developing a socialist market economy; analysis of the marketing environment; purchase behavior of the market; integrated marketing decisions; basic procedures, methods, and strategies of marketing activities; and marketing management problems.

This course is a collaborative offering within the Department of International Politics and the Department of Diplomacy. Each week, one faculty member will deliver a lecture introducing, analyzing, and elaborating on the following topics:  

1. The current landscape of international relations and hotspot issues;  
2. The foreign policies of major world powers today;  
3. China’s current foreign relations and foreign policy.  

This course discusses modern democratic countries through introducing the Taiwan constitution. Students should have concepts of the law, familiar with basic rights, and maintaining political system and social order. This course invite presenters from different professional field to discuss different social topics.

This course covers basic knowledge of computers, including networks, office software, web basics, and Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in Microsoft Office 2016 packages.

Through the explanation of the Zhouyi, students learn the Zhouyi and its philosophical connotation, as well as the status and significance of the Zhouyi in the history of Chinese philosophy, thought, and culture. The course also provides an overview of the latest research related to Zhouyi studies. It also examines and analyzes the philosophy in the "Book of Changes."

This course teaches basic etiquette and rules of softball. The course teaches the basic movements of throwing, catching, and hitting and provides practice of each defensive position. The course also provides time for team game practice.

This course discusses the following topics: political sociology, current research, the source and rise of the nation state as we know it, the classifications and mechanisms of social movements and how they change, the relationship between the State and civil society, the source of the welfare state and how it arose, who the elite and rulers are and how are they recognized, the exclusionary/discriminatory forces in a democratic society, and globalization.
