This course aims to help students understand the importance of physical exercise for health. The goal is to train students personal motor skills for fundamental and event-specific exercise, as well as appreciation for sports. This course also helps students actively participate in physical exercise regularly. Students' final grades depends on completion and execution of the freestyle and breaststroke for 50m.

This course strengthens Chinese listening, writing, and speaking skills and focuses on improving pronunciation. The course is designed for exchange students and visiting students only. The Chinese course is offered for those students who are taking Chinese course Elementary I, II & III from NTU Center for International Education.This class goes over vocabulary and grammar in depth. There are class discussions every lesson. Class discussions are held every class for approximately one hour. The course also furthers understanding of Taiwanese culture and language. Attendance is required. Students who miss five courses will receive an F. Assessment: attendance and participation, midterm exam, interview, written exam, assignments, quizzes and reports. This course introduces the aesthetics and philosophy of art in the West, and explains the origins, main ideas and influences of aesthetics and art philosophies. Through in-depth explanation of the aesthetics and philosophy of art of different periods and different philosophers, students can understand the basic spirit of Western aesthetics and art philosophy. Topics: classical aesthetics; Plato's imitation; Aristotle's Poetics; Kan't Critique of Judgment; Schelling's philosophy of art; Hegel's Aesthetics; and the theory of modern aesthetics

This course explores how Taiwan developed into a multilingual society from ancient times to the present, delving into: (a) How Taiwan's multilingual society was formed, and how language and phenomena appeared in Taiwanese society during each period; and (b) how the various language groups interact, and what kind of relationship between language and power is presented. The course also addresses interesting phenomena involving language and society, history, culture, and politics.

This class presents Solo (singing), the basic of finger-style technique, how to read sheet music and the knowledge of music theory and analysis. At the end of the semester, the students will have the ability to develop and promote multicultural music and art, and the ability to create and perform independent music.

The course is the continuation of Advanced Chinese 1 and prepares students to take further courses in advanced-level Chinese. It is designed for students who have studied at least two-and-a-half years of Chinese at the college level to achieve greater proficiency in oral and written uses of modern Mandarin. The course further develop language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, with particular emphasis on enhancing reading and writing abilities. It builds upon the foundations of Advanced Chinese 1 yet differs in giving the students increased exposure to authentic written (and audio-visual) materials not specifically designed for classroom learning.
