COURSE DETAIL
Because of the development of music-related AI area and multidisciplinary trends in science and music, the skills of digital music and audio synthesis are gradually needed by industries. The knowledge of digital music involves three areas: music, electrical engineering, and computer science. This course teaches how to program and design digital music, utilizing related programming languages, including chucK (for sound synthesis), Python (for edit and analyzing MIDI data), and Scratch (for auditory-visual interactive projects).
Course Prerequisite: "Learning Programming for Music" or any other related text-based programming courses.

COURSE DETAIL
Biology, the science of life, studies organisms as the basic units of life. How they evolved, how they are built up, how they act, how they communicate with each other, how they are related to the non-living environment, and how they reproduce. The course starts with biomolecules and reactions that enable life, followed by tasks about organelles, cells, DNA, and the protein machinery that results in the diversity of cells. The course continues with cell growth and differentiation, metabolism, and reproduction. The end of the course goes into organ systems and evolutionary mechanisms that ultimately provide the biodiversity on planet Earth.
COURSE DETAIL
This course covers review topics restricted to life sciences. Enrolled students conduct research project or literature review exercise on a mutually agreed topic under the supervision of a faculty member. Approval of the course instructor is needed for students to enroll in this course. Graded P or F.
COURSE DETAIL
This course provides general knowledge in radio frequency applications, especially those which are common in radio communications. The fundamentals are introduced without penetrating the electronics or design details. The different parts are treated as functional blocks defined by their physical properties. This gives a basic understanding of the radio receiver or the cellular phone but also the requirements put on the used circuits. Thus, this is a compulsory course for those who later want to specialize as radio frequency designers.
COURSE DETAIL
This course is designed to give an in-depth knowledge of structure and function of neurons, neuronal communication and muscle. Major topics include a) The detailed structure of neurones and muscle cells, b) The biophysical membrane properties of these cells, c) Ion fluxes and permeabilities, d) Synaptic transmission, e) Excitation/contraction coupling and cell signalling. Parallel computer simulated assignments complement the lecture material in addition to an assignment on muscle function and EMG measurements.
COURSE DETAIL
This course is an introduction to the fundamentals of Western music theory with an emphasis on reading and writing musical notation, ear training, and analytical listening. It helps develops an understanding of how texture, harmony, rhythm, dynamics, melodic development, and other parameters interact to create music. Examples used in the class are drawn mostly, but not exclusively, from classical repertoire. Although prior musical training is helpful, there are no prerequisites for the course.
COURSE DETAIL
This course is part of the Laurea Magistrale degree program and is intended for advanced level students. Enrollment is by permission of the instructor. This course advances students' knowledge in:
- Developing knowledge and critical understanding of the most relevant models and theories of competitive and corporate strategy;
- Conducting structured strategic external and internal analyses considering both organizational performance, resources and capabilities, and the features of the competitive arena;
- Identifying and developing strategic options, applying appropriate models and frameworks, and evaluate their limitations;
- Evaluating contemporary and ethical issues that may impact upon strategic choices;
- Working collaboratively to develop, evaluate and present strategic recommendations to an international senior audience.
This course enables students to understand the prominent concepts and theories of competitive and corporate strategy. The study of the core elements of strategic management are combined with the development of the skillset to apply strategy models and tools to case studies from different industries, such as finance and banking arena, including the emergent fintech and digital companies. Students will have the chance to develop their collaborative skills in a role game as consultants to advise the management of a corporation.
