The course mainly concerns basic theories of theater art. Through the course, students will get an overall view of the history of western theater and think about the fusion of different forms of theater so that they are able to understand the essence of theater and have a prospect of the development of the world’s theater arts in the future. The course considers the theater art of the world as a whole as opposed to the usual idea which confronts the theater of the East to that of the West. It thoroughly introduces the main theory issues of the history, aesthetics, phenomena, and performances of theater art which appear in the process of its development including the emergence, characteristics, form, language, structure, narration, performance, directing, space, genre, school, function, aesthetics of theater etc. 

This course will first lead students to be familiar with mainstream English media from home and abroad, such as China Daily, CGTN, Xinhua News Agency, New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, CNN, BBC, South China Morning Post, etc. Social media such as popular English-language or bilingual video programs on Douyin (TikTok), Bilibili, Little Red Book and YouTube will be included. Students can not only understand the latest developments of global news, but also can form their own critical views on the world media and compare the similarities and differences between Chinese media and Western media. Secondly, this course will also select typical or hot cases to explain news production and news reporting skills. Finally, the course will take students majoring in different foreign languages through extensive practice in news making. This course is a practical course for reporting China and the world in English, bilingual or multilingual. The learning effect is based on the international news works produced through the semester.

This course uses sketching and oil painting as the basic teaching methods in order to understand the depth of form and the style of color.

By studying Principle of Economics, students should learn some basic knowledge of Economics, master fundamental economic concepts and use economic theories to analyze micro- and macroeconomic phenomena in our daily life. In addition, students should lay a solid foundation to study further economic courses.

This is a course in an all-round way to review Chinese history from ancient times to the Qing Dynasty. The students will know the outline of ancient Chinese history and be interested in it. 

Target Student: Intermediate level learners 
Objective: to improve students’ listening and speaking skills; to expose students to Chinese culture and society; to acquaint students with phonetic system and grammar for oral expression.
Content: Vocabulary Building; Themes-related speech; Chinese Vocabulary (around 1200 words)
 

The primary objective of this course is to enable each student to improve in their demonstration of effective public speaking skills in English.

To study the normal activity process of various systems, organs and cells of the human body, especially the internal mechanism of the functional performance of each organ and cell, and to clarify how the functional activities of the human body as a whole are coordinated and mutually restricted, and the influence of changes in the internal and external environment of the body of these activities.
