This course focuses on creative stimulation processes and techniques, scene design, and object and interface design. It discusses the tools and skills in using applications related to drawing, creativity, perspective, color, chiaroscuro, and teamwork for application in the professional field of concept art. Topics include: Digital techniques; creative stimulation techniques; definition and representation of the environment; design of objects and props; interface design; portfolio design.
 

Topics in this Expansion of Operating Systems and Networks course include: administration with scripting languages; design and implementation of applications based on operating system services; monitoring utilities; introduction to distributed systems; next-generation internet (IPv6); routing protocols; advanced network protocols and services; socket programming.

This course offers an introduction to the literature of the "Silver Age" of Spanish culture and the literary production within the European socio-historical and artistic framework. It explores the general processes of creation, reception, and dissemination of literary production during the Silver Age. This course also discusses the main literary genres of this period including authors and their works. 

Pre-requisites: It is recommended that exchange students taking the course who are not native or bilingual speakers have at least a C1 level of Spanish. 

This course offers a general perspective of the basic concepts of pragmatics and discourse studies, and their application to the analysis of discourse in English. It examines samples of naturally occurring discourse and text. This course also discusses a wide variety of current issues and topics within the field.

In this course, students deepen their didactic skills in order to design, implement, and evaluate educational projects in the various professional contexts of art education. This course explores the different roles artists play in society, science, technology, crafts, and social networks, as well as artists' participation in education today. Other topics include: foundations of art education--main trends and schools, artists as theorists and teachers; art education in Europe and the US-- pedagogical movements and educational reforms in Spain.

This course explores the geographical, physical, demographic, and economic characteristics of the Madrid region. It discusses the origin, formation, and historical evolution of Madrid. This course also focuses on the current urban, economic, and territorial processes in the Community of Madrid, as well as the city's role in a globalized world.

This course provides a study of the concepts and methods of analysis of pragmatic theories applied to the Spanish language. It examines the relationship between the use of language and human interactions. Topics include: the place of pragmatics within linguistic disciplines; linguistic meaning and pragmatic interpretation; implication, presupposition, and implicatures; speech, conversational maxims, and the principle of relevance; speech and sentence modalities; speech and intersentential relations; sentence adverbials; reference mechanisms in Spanish; theories of linguistic politeness; pragmatic approaches to metaphor and irony. 

This course offers a study of Spanish language at the B1 level. Topics may include: grammar, reading and writing, listening and speaking, vocabulary development, written composition.
