The course reviews modernist and post-modernist novels in English literature, as well as the historical and cultural contexts that influenced their development. It provides a critical analysis of a selection of texts published in the British Isles and/or other English-speaking environments during the Modern (1880-1930) and Postmodern (1960-present) periods. Texts covered may vary by term and/or instructor.

This course analyzes group dynamics, teamwork, conflict management, and strategies for negotiation and integration in small and large groups. It examines the current psycho-social perspective used to study groups.

The course provides an economic analysis of problems and challenges found in business and other organizational settings. It examines the concept of asymmetric information and its implications for business organization as well as the concepts of vertical integration. Other topics covered in the course include: selection, asymmetric information, adverse selection, signaling, and screening; explicit incentives, optimal compensation contracts and the trade-off between incentives and insurance; implicit incentives and organization; vertical boundaries, contracting costs and the limits of contracts, benefits of external suppliers and distributors.

This course offers a study of the physical and natural environment of Spain. It examines Spain's territory in relation to its social environment and economy, both nationally and regionally. This course also discusses Spain's diversity through examination of its natural regions and its autonomous communities. Finally, it focuses on the transition to democracy, the Spanish constitution and current institutions, and Spanish society today.
