Course Description
This course provides knowledge about the most important concepts in climate science and actors in the international climate policy debate and negotiations. To study climate issues from a systems analytical perspective where independent critical analysis of the interaction between science and policy is central. The primary focus of the course is on the description and analysis of the connections and interactions between science and policy/politics. Natural science and technological aspects such as radiation balance, coal balance, atmospheric science and meteorology, palaeoclimatology and climate modelling are reviewed. This includes greenhouse gases, warming potential, climate sensitivity, albedo, carbon sink, scenarios and carbon storage. Social science aspects include international relations and negotiations, climate politics and economy, including policy, burden sharing, cost-benefit analysis, technology transfer, system innovations, transitions and policy instruments. The course consists of lectures and seminars where the aspects are presented, discussed and related to each other. The literature provides background and deeper knowledge.

Course Description

The objective of this course is, starting from the requirements for vehicle propulsion, to present the different options in terms of vehicle energy converters, that have the potential for near-zero pollutant emissions and defossilization. The course deals with powertrains for vehicles. The expectations are that in a sustainable society, transportation powertrains will be a mix between battery electric, fuel cell, combustion engines, and hybrids. The combustion engines would then be powered by renewable fuels produced using sustainable sources. The main features of the different energy converters are given, with their pros and cons, followed by a detailed discussion for each option. Challenges to the combustion engine fueled by fossil fuels are discussed. The different configurations for hybrid powertrains and criteria for choosing the optimum configurations are presented. Plug-in hybrids and range-extended hybrids are discussed. The main features for hydrogen fuel cells and battery electric drive are stated, including advantages and challenges, as well as expected future trends for the different transportation modes.

The course covers the following: drive and auxiliary drive; power, torque, and speed; combustion processes – Otto, Diesel, HCCI among others; gear – manual, automatic, CVT among others; efficiency and emissions; fossil fuel, bio fuel – access, cost, and performance; EV, HEV – series, parallel, mild, power split, FCV; conventional servo steering, AC, brake, compressed air and so on; electrically driven alternatives, function, efficiency; demands for electric machines and power electronics in vehicles; criteria for dimensioning; lifetime, weight, price and so on; field reduction, starting characteristics, torque ripple and so on; various types of control, need for sensors; fuel cells – principle, function and construction; advantages and drawbacks with various designs; development trends; electric storage media – e.g. batteries and super capacitors; drive cycles, efficiency, and emission for some selected drive lines; acceleration, start, and other demands for the vehicle; regenerative braking; the need for effect and energy storage in hybrid and FC vehicles.

Course Description
This is a course in both theoretical and applied portfolio analysis. Topics covered include problems related to mean-variance theory, index models, equilibrium and arbitrage pricing models, theories about efficient markets, valuation and evaluation of portfolio management and investment analysis. Course Description
The course provides a broad general knowledge in high frequency applications, especially those used in radio communications. The fundamentals are introduced without penetrating the electronics or design details. The different parts are treated as functional blocks defined by their physical properties rather than their electronic properties. This not only provides a basic understanding of the radio receiver or the cellular phone but also the requirements placed on the used circuits. Advanced measurements are carried out with spectrum analyzer and vector network analyzer in laboratory experiments to study selected building blocks.

Course Description

This course provides a thorough introduction to animal and human nervous systems, their important parts and their function and role in behavior, learning, and cognition. Topics include cell biology of neurons, coding in neurons by means of electrical potentials, synapse and neurotransmitter function; nervous systems and their properties; output systems and behavior which includes the control of motor systems, reflexes, neural pattern generators and the basis of behavior, learning, memory and cognition. Four practicals and one computer exercise deal with neuroanatomy, neurophysiology and behavior. In a journal club, each student presents a scientific paper for discussion.

There are few organizations today, private and public, that are not somehow affected by digitalization. Most of today's managerial work requires knowledge and toolsets to manage the different aspects of the omnipresent reshaping of the organizational landscape that is digitalization. Digitalization, however, has different meanings for different stakeholders in any given organization and it may span from automation to transformation of core processes. Through their own research, students obtain an increased knowledge of course themes by carrying out a study, analyzing the collected material, and compiling it into an essay to be written either individually or in pairs. Course Description

Migration is and has been, a significant influence on European cultures and societies. This course acknowledges this from two main perspectives. On the one hand, how conditions of migration have been represented in film and television – in different national and historical contexts. On the other hand, how migration has affected film production itself, not least regarding how film workers have moved from one country to another, finding new arenas for exploring both their creativity and identity.

Course Description

The course providers an introduction to classic differential geometry, important for further studies in the subject and in relevant areas of physics. The course treats the geometry of curves and surfaces, especially in three dimensions. In particular, the concepts of curvature and torsion are studied. The course covers: The geometry of curves in Euclidean space, their curvature and torsion and how these determine the curves. The geometry of surfaces in Euclidean space, their first and second fundamental forms, the Gauss map, principal curvatures, Gaussian curvature and mean curvature. Theorema Egregium and a deep analysis of geodesics and their behavior both locally and globally. Gauss-Bonnet's Theorem: two different local versions and the famous global version.
