This course systematically introduces students to the basic knowledge of seal printing and seal cutting, analyzes the basic characteristics of seal printing in various eras, and the aesthetic composition of seal cutting in various genres. It cultivates students' aesthetic ability to seal printing and seal cutting, explains the basic steps of seal cutting and related art production, and enables students to master the basic knife techniques and related peripheral technologies of seal cutting by themselves. Through the study of this course, students will have the ability to further develop themselves in seal cutting.

This introductory foundation course for beginners investigates the various materials, skills, and expressive issues involved in drawing the city of Florence, its architecture, sculptures, and the human figure from the live model. Students explore a range of compositional issues such as figure/ground relationships, light and shade, perspective, line and shape, value and color, texture, anatomy, contrapposto, and design. Students draw on site in the city of Florence as well as in the classroom. Both are used in conjunction with exploring diverse approaches to the learning of drawing fundamentals. Emphasis is placed on drawing from perception while focusing on different cultural conventions relating to space, perspective, the human figure, architecture, anatomy, and proportion. The course includes trips to on-site locations in the city of Florence: its piazzas, gardens, museums, as well as a visit to an artist studio. There are two versions of the FOUNDATIONS OF DRAWING: DRAWING IN THE CITY OF FLORENCE, a beginner level and an intermediate level, this course is the beginning level.

This course provides students with the opportunity to gain an understanding and awareness of graphic design, the theory, and context associated with the subject. The course also provides the opportunity to explore a range of strategies applied effectively for recording and developing visual communication, exploring conceptual ideas to be documented in a sketchbook or visual research journal, supported by contextual secondary references where appropriate.

This course covers advanced design skills, theories, and principles of fashion product development and fashion design. Students develop fashion product designs, experience design development processes, and practice design methods through group/individual projects.

Students choose tools and gestures among those offered in their training and learn to situate their practice in the field of creation. This course experiments with and develops the techniques and graphic gestures including drawing, imprint, stencil, monotype, screen printing, photomontage, frame-by-frame animation, and cut papers. Sessions are accompanied by image analyses to encourage students to explore to the many possible forms of representation and help situate their practice in the field of current creation. In addition to class sessions, a regular practice provides an opportunity to produce more elaborate works and gain autonomy and singularity.
