Course Description

This is an advanced level course in the second year of the LM degree program in Fashion Design at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna. The course is intended for Art Studio majors, Design majors, and Fashion Design majors. Principles of design are applied specifically to jewelry  Enrollment is by consent of the instructor. Students work on specific projects under the direction of the course instructor from the initial planning stage through development to execution of the final project. Evaluation is based on the number of projects completed and objectives attained.

Course Description
This is a drawing course that focuses on improving the student's ability to draw from observation. Students learn the proportions of different anatomical parts, body and face. They then apply these techniques as they draw fellow students from observation, and nude models. Media used includes charcoal, drawing pencils, ink, and colored pencils.

Course Description
This course explores the boundary between artwork, publication, and portfolio. The unit acquaints students with the basics of InDesign, a software program that has become industry standard for designing digital and paper publications. Focusing on experimental magazines and other small scale artist's publications the unit explores the visual language of contemporary publishing from an artist's perspective. It examines the complex interplay of text, image, and sequence involved in producing multipage documents/artworks through the practical experience of creating work in InDesign.

Course Description
The course encourages students to grow and extend their practice both within and out of the confines of the college environment and reach a broader, more diverse audience. Students are encouraged to reflect on their art practice in relation to the wider current and historic contexts. They work independently in conjunction with a number of cross-school studio critiques, project space presentations, and regular tutorial support. External exhibition opportunities, invited artists, gallery visits, lectures, and workshops contribute to learning. Students test how artworks are installed, received, and understood professionally by participating in an external exhibition and collaborating with their peers across the school in the development and implementation of other external opportunities.

Course Description

As one of fundamental courses of Interior Architecture Design majors, this course provides the theoretical background of fundamental CAD systems and digital design technologies in order that students can reach the next phase of advanced design computing studies and practices. This includes architectural planning, design, drafting procedures, practices, symbols and preparation of advanced working drawings for architectural and interior design. Moreover, this course tackles how digital design and design computing technologies interact with design per se using quantitative and scientific processes, so that students can comprehend the main features of digital design.

Course Description
This advanced darkroom course challenges students to rediscover photography in the age of the jpeg. Through two projects, the course introduces the wet and wonderful world of alternative analogue processes to encourage students to produce experimental images that consider the conceptual, material and alchemical possibilities of the 'outmoded'. The course also encourages the development of hybrid practices that combine contemporary digital technology with analogue processes.

Course Description
This course provides a study of modern fashion design. Specific focus is placed on how fashion accommodates and enhances the wearer's social, physical, and psychological well-being and the impact of emerging global fashion on individuals and society. Topics include problems of global sourcing and fast fashion; ethical business practice in production and consumption (e.g., sweatshops, child labor, animal treatment, etc.); environmental impact, eco-friendly fashion, and repurposing textile waste; wearable interface and smart clothing for enhanced human well being; and human-centered design for specific users' safety and performance. Assessment: attendance (10%), reflection paper of reading articles and discussion (20%), group research report (30%), midterm exam (20%) and final exam (20%).
