This course provides a critical analysis of literary texts as they relate to cinema, focusing on the different ways literature uses film as a narrative matrix. Course Description
This class investigates psychosocial trauma as it pertains to individuals as well as groups. Beginning with the history of psychosocial trauma and its origins as a psychological concept, the class discusses how trauma has been treated in the past and compares it to modern notions of trauma, such as post-traumatic stress disorder. These concepts are then applied to historical instances with a particular emphasis on the effects of the dictatorship in Chile.
