In this research course, students chose from a range of research topics in various academic fields and receive one-on-one training from an experienced mentor who helps them refine research ideas, formulate questions, define methods of data collection, execute a plan, and present findings. Students review background information for their project, summarize its key outcomes, write a clear and concise research paper or report, and present results orally.

Course Description

This course is concerned with building of the guarantee system about firm’s long-term survival. It aims at training the students’ capabilities to grasp the overall nature of business, to analyse environment, mission, and competence of a firm, to craft and to execute strategy of uniqueness, trade-offs, and synergy. The ways of thinking, analytical skills and practice of art, discussed in this course can be widely applicable to all types of for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. As a result of this course, students will be able to: 1) enhance ability to think the corporate strategy as a whole 2) learn the framework of strategic thinking 3) understand the essence of successful strategy crafting, implementing and executing in practice.

 

This course is concerned with the fundamental objective, "to live, to live well, and to live longer," of the (for profit or not-for-profit) business organization. It deals with identifying and analyzing past and current strategies, with formulating new ones and with implementing them through the organization evolving and operating in the global economic environment. It focuses on business unit strategy, corporate strategy (including choice of business evolution path and pace), co-opetition interactive strategy to solve the problems about "how" to get "what" done through "whom" and by what the firms can set-up, survive and die.

Course Description
This course explores animal diversity, form, and function of animals. It provides an overview of the taxonomic diversity of all animals and a focused study of selected terrestrial and aquatic taxa, including sponges, cnidarians, annelids, molluscs, arthropods, and vertebrates. Students learn to recognize, identify, and classify animals into their higher taxonomic groups; name and explain the body plans, morphological characteristics, and physiological systems in context of the evolutionary relationships of animals; interpret the function of animal morphology from its form; and use the new knowledge to attribute ecology and behaviour to animals.

Course Description

This course introduces students to the principles of health professions education and its application to practice. It guides students through learning about key theories in health professions education and they gain key skills needed to effectively teach in formal and informal environments. The course explores the use of feedback in teaching and learning and peer-assisted learning. It focuses on reviewing educational research and how this can inform clinical practice as well as explore the design and delivery of assessment. The course focuses on putting the knowledge and skills learned into practice through teaching peers, colleagues, patients, and future generations.

Course Description

This course examines music-making in the European art music tradition during the twentieth and twenty-first centuries in its social, cultural and historical contexts. By examining musical works, historical documents, and modern scholarship, students explore both the development of new musical styles as well as the reimagination of older styles. It examines how post-WWI institutions, discourses and technologies have reshaped the lives of musicians and listeners, with a particular focus on the overlapping political-economic contexts of capitalism, liberalism and globalization.
