This course is a study of human resources management and its effect on organizational success. It reviews the principles of human resource management, the management of employees for competitive advantage, and the policies of recruitment, retention, and motivation of human resources. Topics of study include: primary functions of the HR department; internal and external alignment; workforce segmentation; job design and job description; workforce planning; recruitment and selection; training and development; performance appraisal; compensation; career incentives; and international human resource management. NOTE: This course is the same as BUS A 105, but taught in English.

This course is designed to deepen and refine the oral and written communicative competence of students at the B2.2 level (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Specific objectives of the course include developing the capacity to present ideas in a clear, detailed, and complex manner; to write clear, complex, structured text on any subject; participate in daily conversations on general topics, using formal and informal styles. Grammatical forms covered include: the imperative; non-personal forms; the future and perfect future; the conditional and the perfect conditional; the subjunctive; conditional sentences; conditional compound; referenced speech; introductory verbs.

This course provides an introductory study of the structure of the Basque language, with a focus on phonetics, morphology, and syntax. It also surveys the history and evolution of the language and its dialects through the present day. The course provides an opportunity to learn basic expressions, including: how to obtain information about one's surroundings, presentation of self, and description of self.

It analyzes text from different theoretical-practical perspectives and explores the synergy that occurs between the context of the origin of the work and the work itself.
