Course Description
In this studio course, students from all disciplines gain a grounding in photographic technologies and how they can be utilized in contemporary photographic practice. Students explore the ongoing relationship photography has with social and political issues. They become aware of the diversity of cultural meaning and world-views within the framework of photography, demonstrate intellectual curiosity about a specific area of practice with consideration of ethical issues, apply exploratory thinking to generate ideas and creative works in response to project challenges, analyze and apply an appropriate photographic approach to the communication of a particular idea, and utilize information in a variety of forms and contexts to support their project.
