The course consists of one component, titled Art History and its Materials and Techniques. This is a single-semester course taught in semester one. It examines some of the most common issues of the discipline such as style labels, periodization, the role of patrons, and the wide range of media used by artists at different times. It will also look at the practice of art history itself in the writings of notable art historians from Vasari onwards.

The course examines and evaluates different approaches to understanding and treating common psychological disorders. The history of these is considered along with the current forms of such models. The application of these models to treatments is described and the effectiveness of the treatments assessed.

This is a calculus-based physics course with a laboratory component for international summer students. This is the second of a two-course sequence. This intensive course introduces fundamental concepts of physics in the areas of: dynamics & relativity; fluids, waves & sound; heat & thermodynamics; and geometrical & wave optics as a foundation for more advanced studies in Physics and applications in other areas of science. Competence in calculus as well as algebra, geometry, and trigonometry is essential. This course provides a solid understanding of main physics topics and introduces methods of experimental physics. It provides a good foundation of basic physics for aspiring Physicists as well as being applicable to other areas of science and technology.

This course provides students with the basic knowledge and confidence required to draw and paint the human form. Students are introduced to the core skills and practices necessary to render a nude figure. The course enables students to render three-dimensionality and also provides a platform from which the students' personal awareness and interpretation of the visual environment can be developed.

This course looks at the medieval Celtic peoples in the period from c.400-1066AD. The course studies the art and literature of the Celts, and looks at the movements and developments in Britain and Ireland in the period after 400AD which led to the establishment of the historical Celtic kingdoms.
