Course Description
This course demonstrates how information systems and decision support tools can be effectively integrated to analyse and solve business problems. Lectures cover topics in information systems and data management, such as database design and SQL; as well as a number of management science techniques, such as linear programming and decision analysis. Computer labs let students acquire the skills that are necessary to apply these techniques in practice by using state of the art software packages. Tutorials provide an understanding of the theory underpinning the aforementioned techniques. Group activities are designed to let students experience challenges and opportunities that stem from the integration of decision support models and information systems.

This course introduces the fundamental principles of international finance and its applications. Course topics include the structure, function and operation of Foreign Exchange Market; the concept and theory of balance of payments; models of interest rate parity, purchasing power parity and exchange rate determination to analyze exchange rate changes and forecast exchange rate; the evolution of International Monetary System; Output, exchange rate and macroeconomic policy, and international financial topics.

Course Description

The course is designed to prepare students for leadership in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse workforce. Throughout the course, students are challenged to question, think, and respond thoughtfully to the issues they observe and encounter in the internship setting, and the designated city in general. Students have the opportunity to cultivate the leadership skills as defined by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), such as critical thinking, teamwork, and diversity. Assignments focus on building a portfolio that highlights those competencies and their application to workplace skills. The hybrid nature of the course allows students to develop their skills in a self-paced environment with face-to-face meetings and check-ins to frame their intercultural internship experience. Students complete 45 hours of in-person and asynchronous online learning activities and 225-300 hours at their internship placement.

The course introduces basic statistical techniques and terminology used in analyzing business data and their application to functional areas of business. The course is divided into seven areas: descriptive statistics, probability and probability distribution, discrete and continuous probability distribution models, sampling distributions, hypothesis testing, two-population inferences, and regression analysis and modeling. Course Description
This course is designed to introduce students to the global financial environment with a special focus on Europe and Eurozone issues. The course aims to provide the analytical tools needed to understand international financial markets as well as the institutional and economic forces affecting them. To this goal, the course covers a number of topics related to the international environment that deal with financial institutions and economic concepts such as exchange rates, their determination and the relationship with interest rates and inflation rates. The course relates the fundamental topics to current debates on Eurozone crisis, the potential economic impact of Brexit and the future of crypto currencies. The class includes lectures, small group studies, case-study analysis, group presentations and field trips. Course readings from the financial press (i.e. Financial Times, The Economist) are provided. The nature of the class is interactive as students are expected to read the material prior to class and to contribute to the class discussions or engage in formal debates. The field trips to various European economic research institutes and policy centers, foreign exchange departments of leading financial institutions, and Fintech startups in Berlin help complement and enrich the classroom material.

Course Description
The course develops a specific knowledge about the retailing and distribution channel main trends and issues. The distribution channel is considered not only a tool to reach the final markets but also a new way for brand positioning and developing brand equity. During the first sessions of the course students become familiar with the different actors, activities, and distribution functions, and assess the related benefits and costs. The following sessions discuss managerial models aimed at selecting an optimal distribution channel structure and the go-to market strategy, as well as multi-channel and omni-channel management issues. The course is composed of three main parts. The first part discusses understanding channel actors: retailers and shoppers; students review the main retail trends and some of the key models to understand and detect the shopping behavior and insights. The second part discusses channel planning, management, and control. Topics in this section include channel design methodologies, trade marketing tools, and working partnership. The final part discusses new issues in channel management. Topics include multi-channel challenges and analyzing private labels trends, and considering the strategic role of the store brand within channels.
