Sport Climbing I is categorized as an individual psychomotor sport, which provides the technical, tactical and regulatory foundations of the sport, allowing the student to apply the contents and be evaluated in a competitive reality. This is an independent research course with research arranged between the student and faculty member. The specific research topics vary each term and are described on a special project form for each student. A substantial paper is required. The number of units varies with the student’s project, contact hours, and method of assessment, as defined on the student’s special study project form.

This course introduces the history, characteristics, effects, basic skills, rules, and strategies of basketball. The basic skills will include passing, catching, dribbling, shooting, rebounding, and footwork. The basic techniques will include fast break, zone offense, and defense. In addition, students will improve their physical fitness and learn to serve as coaches and referees.

This course provides the opportunity to examine the cultural aspects of human movement, as well as how to express human emotion through movement. The class includes activities such as rhythm and dance, social dance, Nihon-minzoku buyo ('Japanese folk dance'), and creative Wadaiko (Japanese style drumming).

Through this physical activity course, students learn about Aikido from the martial arts perspective. The course instructs on mastering basic Aikido techniques while providing insight into Japanese traditional culture and way of thinking.

This course presents Japanese traditional culture and health, through the practice of Bon Dance, or "Bon Odori." Bon Dance is a kind of dance performed at summer festivals in many parts of Japan. This dance features simple movements which represent a traditional sense of beauty; however, it is also a good cardio exercise. Each dance is introduced to the class through an explanation of the cultural and social significance of the dance to foster an understanding of the meanings behind some of the traditional movements.
