Housing

During the first three weeks of the program you’ll stay in a prearranged homestay. The study center will help you find housing for the remainder of the program.  

First three weeks - Homestay

UCEAP will assign you to a homestay host based on a questionnaire you provide before departure. Most hosts have been welcoming UCEAP students for many years. As a renter in the house or apartment, you may or may not be included in the daily activities. In some cases, the same family will host a second UC or international student.

Commute

A typical commute is about 45 minutes. The transportation system in Madrid is highly developed, efficient, and easy to use.

Remainder of Term

You may live in an apartment, private home, boarding house, or university dorm. The study center will provide a list of resources to assist you. If getting to know local Spanish students is a goal, you may choose to stay in an apartment or dorm where local students also live.
