Course Description

Drawing is the most important part of the design process. The purpose of drawing is threefold:

1. The process of drawing itself establishes the creative process of the design. The thoughts are constantly transformed along with the drawing and thinking.
2. After the drawing is completed, it becomes a tool for communication with other people. Through the explanation of pictures, people can better understand one’s design concept.
3. The goal of drawing is nothing more than to get all the details of the design that the designer wants. The drawing communicates to engineers how to perform production work.

Course Description

This courses examines a widespread phenomenon in the history of narrative that deals with the fantastic. Taking a transcultural and transmedia approach to the study of the fantastic, this course investigates its expressions in literary and cinematic narratives from a variety of historical periods and cultural traditions, in association with genres as diverse as fairy tales, science fiction, gothic romances, psychological thrillers, legends, love stories, and so on. This expansive view not only allows us to appreciate the adaptability of the fantastic as a discursive narrative mode, but also creates opportunities for us to understand its varying connections with its native cultures, as it migrates across cultural boundaries.

In other words, it discusses the operation of demand and supply in the market and the determination of market prices. This course also explores the role of government departments in the market. For example, in the face of rising international crude oil prices, does the government need to control the rising prices of domestic oil products? Does the government charge tuition fees for college students, or regulate or subsidize it?

Course Description

This course establishes a basic understanding and experience of Chu Bamboo Calligraphy. Since the Chu silk scrolls were unearthed from Changsha Tsukuro in 1942, and the Japanese calligrapher Imai Reisetsu devoted himself to it, Chu bamboo slips of the Warring States Period have been unearthed one after another at Baoshan, Guodian, Shangbo, and Tsinghua. The study of Chu bamboo slips has flourished, starting from the history of calligraphy. From the perspective of calligraphy, its glyphs are novel, its ink marks are bright, and its research and copying are unprecedented. It is full of a free and casual atmosphere, and it has finally become an independent and important new field in calligraphy learning and research.
