This course aims to enable learners to comprehensively and systematically master the theories and methods of news analysis, and to understand the Party and government's policies and current affairs through the analysis of news articles. It also aims to deepen their understanding of the professional connotations of news writing, thereby enhancing their news professional skills and enabling them to be competent in future news and publicity work and even enter higher-level professional studies.

This course will focus on the intersection of big data and storytelling, aiming to enable students to produce informative, effective, and compiling narrative frameworks using big data. Students will learn essential skills, techniques, and experiences to produce successful data-driven content products, journalistic reports, science communication articles, and social sciences research. The course welcomes students who are new to data science, but we strongly encourage students who do not yet have experience with data analytics to start exploring different software and coding languages for data storytelling during the course. Meanwhile, students familiar with data analytics and visualisations will also learn how to improve their techniques and strategies for completing data storytelling.

This course systematically introduces the learning and memory, helping students understand research methods in neuroscience, the process of learning, the memory formation, the role of different brain regions involved in learning and memory, changes in brain structure and functional connections during learning and memory, the cellular and molecular basis of learning and memory, and brain diseases that affect learning and memory. We will discuss the recent scientific progress of neurobiology related with learning and memory, study the literature to explain the background, purpose, process, results, discussion, reference, in order to help students to understand the neuroscience research, help students improve their ability to perform independently experimental designing, literature exploring and logical thinking, and motivate students' interest in neuroscience.

This course aims to let the students get familiar with the history of documentary and its major movements, recognize the differences between feature and documentary, learn the ideas and methods behind documentaries from a producer’s perspective. The course will invite first-class documentary producers in China to have screenings and face-to-face discussions, teaching students about the creative process of documentary making as well as technical aspects such as shooting and editing. Meanwhile, this course encourages students to experiment and practise, the students must work in groups (at least three people) to produce a minimum half-hour-long documentary at the end of the semester. This will train the students to grasp basic documentary-making skills.

This course focuses on each of the language skills listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation. It covers a series of subjects, genres and literary styles that reflect the characteristics of contemporary Chinese social life and ethnic culture. Its purpose is to enable students to study a diverse range of subjects, rich content and complex language structures in the original Chinese text. In addition, it will help students understand the original meaning and connotations of texts and increase their ability to use Chinese. Through the use of extensive vocabulary, grammar practice, correction of writing errors, analysis of texts, reading comprehension and other classroom exercises, this course aims at comprehensively explaining and training the skills and elements of Chinese Language that students typically find difficult to grasp.

This is a language course designed for international students specializing in Business Chinese. The curriculum primarily covers the composition of various business correspondence, including letters of invitation, appreciation, apology, establishing business relations, as well as inquiries, offers, counter-offers, and claims. Through the study of these contents, the course aims to equip students with the essential language fundamentals, specific vocabulary and sentence patterns for business writing, along with the necessary Business Chinese knowledge required for related professional operations.

In this course, we will give a brief overview of series of imaginations of so called "ancient Japan" on mass media, how the imaginations were made, and the difference between the imaginations and reality. The examples mainly come from movies, including animation, video games.etc.

The course focuses on practices of clothed figure and nude figure oil painting. It integrates creativity and experimental expressions based on life drawing. By combining the actual situations of students with different majors and foundations, we help them feel the courage, vitality, magic and joy of creation, experience the diverse tension and rich expressiveness of the oil painting world and figure representation, and comprehend the artistic philosophy of "no destruction, no establishment" through the creative process.

The course covers three sections: "Self", "Relationship" and "Achievement". In "Self" section, students explore the mysteries of psychology, assist with self-relationship improvement, sleep and stress management, happiness and motivation enhancement, as well as life respectable and enjoyment. The "Relationship" section will have students analyze the essence of love and intimacy, and look at the influence and response of original families, as well as the communication of interpersonal relationships. The "Achievement" section will help students clarify your their career development and future choices, own behavior plan and management, and inner motivations, achieving a healthy life.

This course teaches force analysis of aircraft, methods for establishing flight motion equations, scheme flight and aircraft performance, guided flight and guidance law, linearization approximation method of flight motion, analysis of flight dynamic characteristics, aircraft stability and maneuverability, basic structure and basic principles of flight control system, and flight control methods.
