Course Description

Media management is a basic course in the School of Journalism. Through the study and discussion of this course, students will understand that media not only concerns content production, but also is an important commercial organization that needs to continuously generate profits to maintain the large-scale operation of the media. Course Description

This course covers key knowledge points in the tourism industry, starting with the overall characteristics of tourism under the trend of globalization. It is structured based on the "Four Major Tourism Characteristic Industries" recommended by the World Tourism Organization (TSA), and includes course designs for the travel agency industry, hotel industry, scenic spots (attractions) industry, and tourism transportation industry. Course Description

Based on the theoretical foundations of counseling psychology, this course introduces different theoretical schools (psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, family therapy, art therapy, existential-group therapy, Chinese indigenous psychotherapy, etc.) and their distinct assumptions and intervention approaches regarding personality growth and psychological crises. Drawing from the history of counseling psychology and modern evidence-based scientific research and applications, the course helps students develop a fundamental understanding of common psychological states such as anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive tendencies. Additionally, it provides basic concepts and actionable strategies for preventing psychological crises among emerging adulthood population.

Course Description

This course takes the development of classical Western music history as the main axis, with special emphasis on the role and influence of composers in the changes of different eras. The course explores the hymns of the Middle Ages, through the polyphonic art of the Renaissance, the splendor and order of the Baroque, the balanced structure of the classical period and the soulful expression of the romantic period, to the opportunity music, spectrum music, electronic music and cross-disciplinary creations of the 20th and 21st centuries. Through the works and life stories of representative composers of each era, the class analyzes how music responds to and shapes culture, thought, and social trends. Classes combine listening experience, film viewing, and interactive discussions to cultivate students' artistic perception and critical thinking.

Course Description

This course will cover the concepts, nature, fundamental pricing principles, major models, applications, and underlying risks of financial derivatives. The derivatives discussed include forwards, futures, options, interest rate derivatives, commodity derivatives, credit derivatives, and other non-standard derivative instruments. In addition to introducing essential theoretical foundations, the course emphasizes the integration of theory with practice. Through real-world case studies, students will gain a deeper understanding of the role and limitations of derivatives in the economy. Furthermore, students will be required to use computational tools (such as VBA-Excel or other programming languages) to implement derivative pricing models and risk management strategies.

The Vocal Healing Course is designed to teach active healing methods. Vocal healing greatly benefits human body both physically and spiritually through vocal training methods, which focus on breathing techniques, resonance adjustments, and vocal frequency vibrations, and through auditory guidance in music. This nonverbal form of communication can reach deep into people's emotional core. Some healing techniques can even “massage” the body’s internal organs in ways that are difficult to replicate with other healing approaches.
