Course Description
This course provides an exploration of modern China through the analysis of Chinese-language films from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, paying special attention to how these films represent China's social, culture, and political thought. Topics include fifth generation Chinese filmmakers; Cultural Revolution in cinema; representations of women, men, and LGBTIQ; gender politics; postmodernism and post colonialism; ambiguous identity of Taiwan cinema; Thailand in Chinese cinema; and Chinese in Hollywood movies. Assessment: class discussion (10%), film analysis (30%), midterm (30%), film festival (30%).

This course examines the characteristics and development of art and architecture in Thailand from ancient times to the present, and the influences of other cultures on Thai art and architecture. The course builds a solid foundation in the study of the arts and architecture of Thailand through the investigation of selected themes. Course Description

The course provides a study of Indian traditional wellness, including the origin, classification, and development of Yoga, and the principles and concepts of Ayurveda. Topics include Yoga therapy; applications of Yoga; practical Yoga (Asana, Pranayama, Dharana Dhyana, Bandha, Mudra, Shat Kriya); methods of teaching Yoga; and government policy towards Yoga in India.
