This course provides a study on corporate communication, the role of strategic communication, communication in the transmedia environment, and digital marketing techniques. Other topics covered include: relationship with the media; internal communication; corporate visual identity; corporate social responsibility; political communication; crisis communication. Students are expected to have completed previous coursework on journalism.

This course discusses the analysis and control of dynamic systems in continuous time as applied to aerospace systems. It examines the behavior of the systems by way of the classical control theory.

This course provides a background on human anatomy and physiology, as well as some aspects of pathology and pathophysiology, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and medical terminology. As a required course for the biomedical engineering degree, topics are typically approached from an engineering perspective rather than simply medical or biological viewpoints. NOTE: Previous coursework in cell and molecular biology, biochemistry and biological systems is strongly encouraged.

This course examines basic concepts related to the management of innovation in a company, the role of innovation for business competitiveness, and methods for creativity.

This course explores the concept of time-- how it is understood by different sciences such as physics and biology, and how it relates to the way in which humans experience the progress of existence. It discusses topics such as the arrow of time, the multiverse, embryonic development, and again as well as views of time from the perspective of the arts, including literature, painting, and music. Finally, this course analyzes how humans measure time, both with artificial devices and through genes.

This course covers computational techniques used to solve complex problems in biology and medicine, characterized by the analysis of large quantities of information. Topics covered include: computational approaches and techniques for searching sequence, structural and expression databases and their relationship with disease databases; alignment and comparison of sequences through dynamic programming; gene structure prediction; restriction site searches; secondary structure prediction; generation of recombinant vectors in silico; obtainment of encoded protein sequence; folding and protein structure prediction; functional and protein-binding domain prediction; protein interaction prediction; evaluation of the pathogenicity of disease variants; molecular and phylogenetic sequence evolution analysis. Students are strongly advised to have completed coursework in mathematics, programming, biology, and biochemistry.

This course is a study on global markets and the implications of economic globalization on consumers, entrepreneurs, and governments. It examines theory and empirical data to analyze international trade and macroeconomic issues. Topics of study include: globalization and trade, the Ricardian Model, the Hecksher-Ohlin Model, increasing returns and monopolistic competition, offshoring of goods and services, balance of payments, financial globalization, exchange rates and currency markets, monetary and asset approaches to establishing exchange rates, macroeconomic policy in an open economy, and the European Monetary Union.
