Be Prepared (applicable to students of Egyptian heritage):  If you are of Egyptian heritage, there are important considerations for this program. If you have US citizenship, but your parents were born in Egypt, you will be considered a Egyptian citizen by the Egyptian Consulate.  Male students who have Egyptian citizenship either by birth or blood entitled to a six-month stay in Egypt without any military service clarifications or obligations. If they exceed the six-month stay, they will have to process the military service exemption for Egyptian/dual nationals in person, otherwise, they will not be allowed to leave the country until they clarify their military service status and issue the military service exemption.
